Pawton’s Doggy Daycare operates within Maynard’s Rescue Sanctuary and serves as our primary source of income, allowing us to continue rescuing animals. By joining our team, you’re directly supporting our rescue efforts. There is also an opportunity to get involved in other exciting projects happening at the sanctuary.

Job Title: Doggy Daycare Handler
Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and passionate Doggy Daycare Handler to join our
team! This self employed role involves driving the company van and safely transporting dogs to and from daycare, ensuring their well-being during travel, and providing fun and engaging time at daycare. If you love working with dogs and enjoy being outdoors, this could be the perfect job for you!
Pay: £12 ph
Hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Friday (Flexible - TBA at interview)
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely collect and drop off dogs from clients’ homes to our daycare facility.
• Ensure all dogs are secured correctly in the vehicle and travel comfortably.
• Supporting with group play sessions and activities.
• Monitor and manage dog behaviour, ensuring a positive experience for all.
• Provide basic care such as wiping muddy paws, refilling water bowls, and giving treats as
needed.
• Communicate with clients about their dogs’ activities and well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle and doggy daycare environment.
Requirements:
• Over 21 years old, a full clean UK driving license and DBS check.
• Experience handling multiple dogs of various breeds and sizes.
• A passion for animal welfare and confidence in managing dog behaviour.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A responsible, punctual, and professional attitude.
Preferred but Not Essential:
• Previous experience in dog daycare, walking, or animal care.
• Canine first aid certification.
• Knowledge of dog behaviour and training techniques.

There are many different volunteering opportunities within Maynard’s. We are grateful for any help you can provide, from washing animal bowls to cleaning stables, planting vegetables or repairing fences and stables and we would welcome you as part of the volunteering team.
We are also able to accept work experience and Duke of Edinburgh volunteers.
