Doggy Daycare Assistant - 1-2 days per week

Hourly Rate: to be discussed (self employed basis)

We are a non profit daycare, all proceeds support the rescuing of farm animals who reside at Maynards Sanctuary. The doggy daycare is situated in the heart of the sanctuary surrounded by fields.

We provide top-notch care and a fun, safe environment for dogs of all breeds and sizes.

Our facility is dedicated to ensuring the well-being and happiness of every dog in our care.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Doggy Daycare Assistant to join our team and help us continue delivering exceptional service.

Job Description:

As a Doggy Daycare Assistant, you will be responsible for the overall care and supervision of the dogs in our facility. This includes ensuring a safe and clean environment, providing exercise and socialisation opportunities, and attending to the individual needs of each dog.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and interact with dogs in playgroups, ensuring safe play and positive social behaviour.

Monitor dogs for signs of distress, illness, or injury, and report any concerns to management.

Clean and maintain the daycare area, including play areas, kennels, and feeding stations.

Feed and provide water to dogs as per their individual schedules.

Assist with basic grooming tasks, such as brushing and bathing in winter to remove mud.

Engage in positive reinforcement training techniques as directed.

Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog’s day and any notable observations.

Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate records are kept.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience working with dogs or in a pet care environment preferred.

Passionate about animal welfare and comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.

Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to be self sufficient.

Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Flexibility to cover holidays and illness.

We are also able to accept work experience and Duke of Edinburgh volunteers.
